Professional career growth in commercial lending

Become a Commercial Loan Broker with CapitalAx

Review the independent broker model, the work involved, and the CapitalAx program before you apply.

    Independent contractor overview

CapitalAx engages commercial loan brokers as independent contractors under a 1099 model. The role is not salaried employment. You build and manage your own prospect relationships, decide which opportunities to pursue, and earn compensation when transactions fund under the applicable broker agreement and compensation plan. Income is not guaranteed, and submitting an application or loan file does not ensure a commission. Payment terms are governed by the current written agreement.

Brokers work with borrowers seeking business and commercial real estate financing. Their work can include learning the borrower's objective, collecting deal information, assessing possible program fit, preparing a lender request, and communicating through the lender review process. Lenders make credit decisions, set their conditions, and determine approval. CapitalAx provides participating brokers with lender relationships, training, transaction and back office support, and operating tools described in the broker program materials. Brokers remain responsible for their own business activity and should review the written program terms, fees, licensing rules, and compensation details before applying.

The 15 guides below cover the practical questions that come before joining, from licensing and training to compensation, software, leads, and business setup. Read the topics relevant to your experience, then review the CapitalAx program and application details.
